Musical theatre is a play, a story that uses music and songs to advance the plot and forward it's narrative
At Hop Little Broadway each class is a cleverly designed theatrical story led through music, sensory props, movement and play
Within the theatre the use of props, costume, sensory sights & sounds enhance the make-believe experience
As we journey through our story we engage in it's make-believe, a pom-pom is never a pom-pom, never the next 'activity', in fact all sensory elements become something else. This enables us to become characters, scenery, elements of our story to advance our plot, increase our imagination and discover new ways to play while stimulating and engaging our little stars, building their developmental and learning milestones and fostering their growth
All the sights, sounds and sensory delights you would expect in a baby/ toddler/pre-school class will be there, just with the imaginative touch of Broadway, magic and make-believe!

Imaginative play, or 'make-believe', is a driver for early brain development and helps to build those important early language and communication skills, moving on to boost our creativity and boundless imagination
Hop Little Broadway embraces 'symbolic play', make-believing a pom-pom is the hair of a scrunchie scarecrow, a foil blanket the splashes from a puddle on a rainy day, a sensory scarf now the waves in the sea, or a kite in the sky. Feathers become paint brushes, foil curtains the grasslands. But through our make-believe nothing is ever as it first appears!
By getting in touch with your own 'inner child' and using your imagination we will help you enhance ways to connect and play
By actively participating in our make-believe classes they become a shared musical journey building bonds and encouraging creative play that will last a life time
Pretend play is fun, it develops beautiful connections while we teach, through the songs, music, actions, movements, gestures, sensory delights and facial responses we share
We ensure just the right amount of repetition that babies and toddlers love and learn from.
Make-believe is in us all, by embracing 'pretend' and engaging in 'play' you're helping your little ones learn symbolically and develop critical skills that they will grow, build and use throughout life.

From an early age I would appear from behind the curtain at home announcing the show was about to begin! I’d watch in awe and copy routines from the musical films, mesmerised how their use of storytell

From an early age I would appear from behind the curtain at home announcing the show was about to begin! I’d watch in awe and copy routines from the musical films, mesmerised how their use of storytelling could take you on such magical journeys through the use of song.
Working in professional theatre only deepened my love of musicals and the wonderful world of Disney.
Teaching young children alongside my professional prancing about enabled me to bring make-believe to life, through movement, music, song and storytelling for the most precious and willing participants.
So naturally when I became a mum my natural style of play was just an extension of all this.
When I attended baby and toddler classes with my own girls I felt I needed more. I realised quickly there was room to incorporate the wonderful world of musical theatre and make-believe into baby and toddler group spaces, not just for the little ones, but for Mummies, Daddies and Carers too!
So, Hop Little Broadway was born, with content sign off by my then 5 year old and the help of my then 22 month old daughter we've played, moved, sung and grooved through her developing milestones to build age appropriate classes that I would love to share with you

Expect puppets, parachutes, exciting props, instruments and additional sensory delights
As the curtain falls on our structured class its time for our goodbye song. It's a reminder to stop, look and really embrace the simplicity of those early smiles, first giggles, wiggles and baby bops that go so quickly, to snuggle, cuddle, swing and sway before turning our thoughts to much needed caffeine!
An ideal place to meet new parents and take away imaginative ideas for simple creative play at home
There is no minimum age to join our musical journey, we appreciate that singing, music & sensory has the power to stimulate, soothe and enrich early development, so our class age categories are used as a guide.
All classes last 40 minutes (approx).
Drop in classes may be possible depending on availability and are a great way to audition us!

Not only do we introduce our little ones to the world of music and make-believe but provide a stage for parent-child bonding.
Hop Little Broadway is where the love for music and story telling begins, ensuring your baby's early years are filled with magic, learning and unforgettable memories.
As your baby grows and starts confidently toddling and walking, they may want to shimmy and shake their way into our Toddler or Family classes, where they can explore make-believe experiences even further.

Hop Little Tots - Walkers - 3 years
Toddlers are hopping, bouncing and bursting with energy and curiosity. Singing, music and creative sensory are the perfect combination for their colourful spirits to shine and spill out, to sing and move, perform and groove, to wiggle and giggle and shine
Hop Little Broadway have specifically tailored these classes to be more interactive and dynamic for the evolving interests and abilities of our toddlers.
Music and make-believe not only develops their language and communication skills but also channels their boundless enthusiasm into creativity and self-expression
Its the age where our little stars begin adopting the ability of 'self-pretend' making the journey our classes take into make-believe even more magical
Family classes - 3 months - 3 years
Perfect for parents & carers with more than one small person that wants to sing & sensory play alongside more confident Tots & growing Babies!
And with ever changing sleep patterns different class times may be preferred, just be aware of older babies & tots sharing the space!
With broader ages, mixed milestones and energy enjoying the space, these class sizes are purposely made smaller than our Baby & Tots only sessions to ensure the space for differing energy is safe and plentiful for all!
